Seeing that I usually run out of time at the end of the semester to teach about the last 50 years of American History. I have decided to post a brief introduction to the last 50 years of World History. We will discuss the specific events in class, but pay particular attention to the events involving the United States and enjoy!

Tours of Antietam and Gettysburg
In our connection with our unit on the battle of Antietam I found some website that included guided tours of the battlefield and have posted them below.
This website combines photos with digital maps to give an idea of what happened on Sept. 17, 1862
This website is a collaborative effort between a few contributors to create a virtual tour of the Antietam Battlefield using modern photographs.
On a separate note I found this website which is update everyday with a tour of a different aspect of the Gettysburg Battlefield.
Rebel Yell
Today in Class we studied the battle of Gettysburg and one of your classmates asked about what the "Rebel Yell" was. I described how it was a battle cry that southern troops made as they were going into battle as a form of psychological warfare. Well, I have found a recording that I will post below that was made at the anniversary of the battle of Gettysburg in 1938, these veterans would have been in their 90's but I think that a very good idea of what the Yell would have sounded like can be gained from this clip.
